I've decided to end this debate...

Yes, water does have a taste.

Don't believe me? Here's the definition of taste - to ascertain the flavor of by taking a little into the mouth. Now, don't get caught up on the innuendo, haha, although it's pretty hard not to!

But seriously...

Do your own taste test if you're still skeptical. Pour some milk into a glass and pour some water into a glass. Blindfold yourself and mix up the cups and drink. You'll know which one is the water and which one is the milk. And do you know why you'll know? Because of their distinct tastes.

I win.
